Do you still play to 21, or 11 points?

In 2001 the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) changed the rule for a game to be played from 21 to 11 points (or winning by 2 points if the score was tied at 10-10).

I did a survey in my social media and I was surprised with the results. 1/3 of my followers still play a game of ping pong up to 21 points.

Table and ping pong are essentially the same sport. There are no major difference between them — including its rules.

The real difference, however; is one of perception. Typically, in the U.S. ping pong is referred to a fun, recreational past time game, while table tennis refers to more serious Olympic sport. Nonetheless, both are fun and a great alternative to exercise with no limitation age, gender or ability!

Everyone plays it, everyone loves it 🏓
