2024 Winter Ping-Pong League Finals: Who Took Home the Titles?

Welcome to our latest blog post summarizing the thrilling action of our 2024 Pong On Wheels Winter Ping-Pong league! The finals were played on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at the Rosemeade Rec Center in Carrollton, TX.


The final week of the Winter league generated great excitement and excellent matches in all divisions played. More than 30 players played during 6 weeks in singles competition in the following Divisions: Youth, Adults and Seniors.


Here is a summary of the final matches and highlights of the finals. Let's get started!


Seniors Division:

For the finals in the Seniors Division, players played in a round-robin format to decide the champion of the Winter League. All players showcased their exceptional skills, delivering powerful shots and impressive defensive & offensive moves.

In the end, Bill Witten managed to clinch the 1st place in the Seniors Open Division. Hui Chi (Rick) finished in 2nd place, followed by John Wood in 3rd place, and Miki Snell in 4th place.


Division B: 1st: Howard Schwartz; 2nd Scott Forrest and 3rd place Forrest Michals.


Adults Division:

The adults Division had 2 Groups. Kishore Yellapragada finished as the league champion in the Adults Open Division, followed by Justin Johnson in 2nd place, and Bishwas Upadhyay in 3rd place, while Jonathan Kim ended in 4th place respectively.


In Division B, Syed Rizvi finished 1st, followed by Vikas Dusad in 2nd place. 3rd place Reena Dusad and Sameer Mithani locked in the 4th place!


Youth Division:

In the Youth Open Division, Vihaan Desaraju secured the 1st spot of the division - winning back to back defending his title from the previous league , followed by Sahaj Gade in 2nd place, Kashvi Jain in 3rd place, and Kanika Dusad in 4th place.


In Division B, Rohan Yellapragada won the 1st place, while with a good and improved performance Riya Yellapragada finished 2nd.


Most Improved Player: Rohan Yellapragada

All players demonstrated significant improvement week after week as the result of their participation in the league.


After having watched all matches and all players during the 6 weeks of league competition, Pong On Wheels decided to recognized Rohan with the 2024 Winter League "Most Improved Player". This distinct recognition reinforced the notable and most improved player of the whole group of participants. Congratulations Rohan!


"I'm very impressed with the great level of sportsmanship, camaraderie and improvement of all players that participated in our recent Winter League! Our ping pong league has become a very popular event among players in North Texas. The league is designed for players of all ages, abilities and skills to compete in a fun and friendly environment." said Daniel Rutenberg with Pong On Wheels.

This was a friendly, non-sanctioned table tennis rating event, where all ages, abilities and skilled players were welcomed to participate!


Once again, we want to THANK YOU very much for your participation in the Winter League. This event is not possible with the help of our volunteers and many others.
