Welcome to our latest blog post summarizing the thrilling action of our 2023 Pong On Wheels Fall Ping-Pong league! The finals were played on Saturday, November 4th, 2023 at the Rosemeade Rec Center in Carrollton, TX.
The final week of the Fall league generated great excitement and excellent matches in all divisions played. More than 30 players played during 5 weeks in singles competition in the following Divisions: Youth, Adults and Seniors.
Here is a summary of the final matches and highlights of the finals. Let's get started!
Seniors Division:
For the finals in the Seniors Division, players played in a round-robin format to decide the champion of the Fall League. All players showcased their exceptional skills, delivering powerful shots and impressive defensive & offensive moves.
In the end, Bill Witten managed to clinch the 1st place in the Seniors Division. John Wood finished in 2nd place, followed by Hui Chi (Rick) in 3rd place.
Adults Division:
The adults Division had 2 Groups. Jordan Duran finished as the league champion in the Adults Division, followed by Juan Carlos Meza in 2nd place, and Zain Shakir in 3rd place, while Kishore Yellapragada ended in 4th place respectively.
In Division B, Yosef Lender finished 1st, followed by Manasi Nimkar in 2nd place. Temperant Gwelo finished in 3rd place and Yoav Litterat locked in the 4th place!
Youth Division:
Also with 2 Groups in the Youth Division, Vihaan Desaraju secured the 1st spot of the division, followed by Philip Kim in 2nd place and Kashvi Jain in 3rd place.
In Division B, Divyesh Majumdar won the 1st place, while Rohan Yellapragada with a good and improved performance finished 2nd. Aamna Periagaram finished in 3rd place, while Cris Lopez ended in 4th place.
Most Improved Player: Manasi
All players demonstrated significant improvement week after week as the result of their participation in the league.
After having watched all matches and all players during the 5 weeks of league competition, Pong On Wheels decided to recognized Manasi with the 2023 Fall League Most Improved Player. This distinct recognition reinforced the notable and most improved player of the whole group of participants. Congratulations Manasi!
"It was great to see players of all ages, abilities and skills playing with great sportsmanship in a fun and friendly environment in our Fall Ping Pong League. Our ping-pong league has become a very popular event among players in North Texas, providing a great setting for players to test and hone their skills," said Daniel Rutenberg with Pong On Wheels.
This was a friendly, non-sanctioned table tennis rating event, where all ages, abilities and skilled players were welcomed to participate!
